OverviewJob Description: Vice President- Business DevelopmentDepartment: Dedicated Division.Reports to: President, Dedicated DivisionJob Objective: Develops and implements agreed upon Sales Plan which will meet both personal and business goals of expanding customer base in the assigned territory. Primary objective will be to identify key Carriers, and work to establish mutually beneficial partnerships. Candidate works within the sales and support teams for the achievement of revenue generation, and long-term account goals in line with company vision and values. Strong preference given to individuals with a background in the Transportation Industry along with relationships at the Carrier level.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities: Responsible for developing key relationships with major carriers in the transportation Industry and developing partnerships. Demonstrates technical selling skills and product knowledge that allows Business Development Rep. to give effective presentation of the company and the services to Executive level audiences. Demonstrates transportation knowledge and will keep abreast of changes in the industry.   Complete understanding of pricing and proposal methods. Demonstrates the ability to carry on a B to B sales conversation and presentations with business owners, CEO’s, and decision makers. Strong experience and deep knowledge in the sales process with the ability to take a sale from the beginning steps all the way through closing.    Sells consultatively and makes recommendations to prospects and clients of the various solutions the company offers to their business issues. Develops a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face with business owners, direct mail, email, networking and other sources.     Maintains accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities within their assigned territory, including the use of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Conflict Resolution Handle urgent situations in a professional manner. Multi-tasking required as workload necessitates. Must be able to work with office equipment, utilizing computers for majority of tasks. Physical Requirements: Capable of hearing, with our without correction, sufficiently to perceive normal speaking levels and receive detailed information through oral communication in order to facilitate meetings and work with internal customers and stakeholders by telephone and in person. Position may involve kneeling, stooping, bending, pushing, lifting, carrying and moving objects that can weigh up to 25 pounds. Capable of sitting at a desk for extended periods of time and working with computer equipment. Capable of speaking, writing, and reading English well and possessing a good command of the language so that various types of communications may be conducted in English with people of various levels of education and capabilities. Capable of visual acuity, with or without correction, sufficient to prepare and analyze data and figures, view a computer terminal, and read extensively.  Education and Experience: 4 year degree in a specified field or business-related field and commensurate work-related experience. Transportation industry experience strongly preferred. Excellent inter-personal skills with drivers, adjusters, claimants, and management Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Experience in insurance claims, legal or law enforcement preferred Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills Strong analytical and investigative skills required, along with the ability to explain insurance policy language Experience in insurance claims, legal or law enforcement preferred Excellent organizational skills required. Accuracy and attention to detail is essential.Working Environment and Conditions:    Must have the ability to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes and/or delays. Must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such circumstances. Must be able to handle incoming requests for assistance via phone and in person while working on other tasks. Must remain professional in light of challenging situations that may occur in the location. Occasional travel by air or car.
