Job Description Tax Manager Job Duties Guiding the firm along the path of success, Promoting the firm’s culture, and encouraging excellence and high team morale, Developing and implementing goals, procedures, and policies in coordination with other Partners, Directors, Managers, and employees, Providing feedback, concerns and recommendations to leadership to continuously evolve Tax into a better service line, Being considered an expert in one or more of the Firm’s core competencies or professional pursuits, Managing the Tax team and its processes which includes tax planning, tax return preparation, business consultation, and other closely related functions, Managing the Tax onboarding process for all new clients and ensuring a positive client experience, Helping to keep the workflow moving, Calculating salary and tax projections, and entering shareholder payroll, and reviewing salary and tax projections with clients, Reviewing (80%) tax returns and preparing (20%) complex tax returns and tracking down missing information, Reviewing tax returns with clients, signing tax returns on a per client basis as directed by a Senior Tax Manager or Tax Partner, and representing the firm and the public accounting community with integrity, Resolving tax notices and other issues, Researching complex or unusual tax questions, and drafting memos and conclusions, Answering client phone calls and emails, Training and leading fellow employees, and managing team members, Coordinating client-centric efforts with other teams, Performing office chores such as emptying dishwasher and basic tidying up (they have daily janitorial service too), and Other tasks related to accounting, taxes and consultation.
