With more than 89,000 employees, SGS operates a network of over 2,600 offices and laboratories around the world.Job Description  The Sr. Contracts Advisor will be equipped with superior negotiation, management and organizational skills who successfully acts as liaison between internal and external clients, subject matter experts, contractors and subcontractors in managing all aspects of contracts from cradle to grave.Leads and coordinates all project contracting activities for medium or high complexity projects.Acts as commercial advisor to Project Management Team for all commercial matters associated with project contracts.  Interfaces with key internal and external project stakeholders and SBUs.Leads the development and acts as custodian of project contracting strategies and plansManages large and complex project type contracts from invitation to bid through award and contract execution.Manages complex contract changes, claims, and disputes associated with project contracts.Documents and shares tools, templates, examples and key lessons learned.’Leads teams in the sourcing process across multiple business units; formulates contract/bid documentation models.  Creates and applies bid evaluation criteria.Develops negotiation plans and leads highly complex enterprise-wide contracting negotiations. Guide the writing and review of effective scopes of work for highly complex risk/value contracts as well as major capital projectsActs as commercial advisor to Management for all commercial matters associated with Project ContractsFacilitates the development of Contracting Strategies and PlansManages post-award activities including receipt of contract obligations, written notices, amendments, contract extensions or renewals; responds to and negotiates complex contractor and company claims.   Designs and leads the execution of contracting assessments and facilitates the development of action plans to close identified gaps. Communicates with and counsels company business owners as well as senior OpCo and business unit management to adapt enterprise contracting best practices.Provides strategic direction regarding the evaluation of new P/SCM systems, the utilization, and the decommissioning of enterprise P/SCM systems.   Influences system design to fit business contracting processes.Demonstrates broad and diverse knowledge of all technical disciplines. Demonstrates ability to effectively integrate all aspects of SCM principles across different functions (Category Management, Procurement Operations, Supply Logistics, etc.)Studies external benchmarking and applies effective practices to improve processes.  Leads efforts to continually improve the organizational capability within the contracting function.Performs administrative duties as required/ assigned.Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications  15+ years of direct major capital project contracting development and management experience with higher level degree preferred4-year undergraduate university degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business Management required. MBA in Supply Chain Management (SCM) or certificate in SCM preferred.
