Challenge yourself, your peers and our industry by shaping what health care looks like and doing your life’s best work.(sm)As new pharmacy clients are welcomed to OptumRx, the new client implementation team offers a best-in-class onboarding experience that is powered by strong governance and project management. The Senior Manager of Technical Consulting will manage a team of Technical Consultants while working alongside the client implementation team.  The Technical consulting team is responsible for overseeing all aspects of incoming files for new clients, including defining requirements, coordinating and intaking files, preparing files for load, loading files, and communication of file loads/progress to clients.  The Senior Manager will define methodology, create detailed documentation, process improvement, and ensure adherence to processes and quality standards. This position will also serve as a Subject Matter Expert and mentor to the team.   Youll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities:   Leads team of Technical Consultants through complex data mapping exercises and data file requirement gathering sessions with external clients and vendors Defines methodology and analytic approach as required for end to end vendor transition data file requests including but not limited to Claims History, Historical Prior Authorization, Disruption analysis and lettering, Continuation of Therapy, etc¦ Ability to manage a team of individuals who handle a large volume of complex client implementations supporting end to end vendor transition files Mentor and lead team members, providing guidance throughout the implementation process. Provide team direction. Resolves problems and provides guidance Creates reporting as required by implementation needs and prepares data for downstream use Defines training process, overall technical consulting process, including detailed documentation for training materials, SOPs, job aids, technical consultant templates, test scenarios, expected outcomes, validation methodology/processes, test results, and recommendations related to external data file requirements. Ongoing continuous enhancement of service and process changes and decisions Work with leader and internal partners to shift workload from existing IT resources to Technical Consulting team inclusive of system access, documenting new process, creating training materials and curriculum, and training new technical consultants Influences or provides input to forecasting and planning activities Works with internal stakeholders to proactively identify implementation and file issues and drive their resolution Understands data standards and identifies data abnormalities. Determines quality standards. Monitors and measures data quality in all outputs that are delivered Takes personal ownership and accountability for pre-determined Service Level Agreements by following up and following through on all deliverables Monitor, track and report vendor transition activities and team performance Recommends and implements improvements to existing processes and adoption of new software tools Effectively communicates technical and statistical findings Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and is comfortable presenting to everyone from entry-level employees to senior vice presidents, and external clients and coalitions Acts as a technical business liaison to explain complicated technical information to non-technical audiences (both internal and external) effectively Promptly responds to service failures, resolves issues, and escalates concerns as appropriate Provides consistent and thorough updates. Identifies risks, implement a mitigation / action plan and drive improved outcomes, communicate to senior leadership Promotes continuous improvement by ensuring adherence to quality principles Initiate business and process improvement opportunities that contribute to service excellence Keeps current with industries best practices and seeks additional training/seminars to improve technical skills 0-10% travelYoull be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree 2+ years of experience in an external client facing role  3 + years of relevant hands-on experience in analytics, business intelligence or comparable data engineering role, including data warehousing, and business intelligence tools, techniques and technology Experience with pharmacy claims data, insurance data, managed health care industry and PBM operations Experience with previous management role Experience with previous mentorship capacity If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attainedPreferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of standard business applications, Microsoft Office Suite (MS Access, MS Visio, MS Project, MS Word)  Advanced proficiency with Excel (Pivot tables, pivot charts, conditional formatting, VLOOKUP, formulas) Solid knowledge of PL/SQL (complex joins, nested subqueries, aggregation, partitions, functions, pivots and unions) Solid understanding of databases, their architectures and database constraints Ability to execute and deliver within the confines and timeframes provided by regulatory agencies Solid knowledge of the US healthcare system and healthcare claims data Experience with implementation and/or managing pharmacy benefits RxClaim experienceSoft Skills: Strong oral and written communication  Excellent organization skills Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Adaptable to thriving in a fast-paced environmentCareers with OptumRx.
