BlueGranite is looking for an experienced Principal Consultant / BI Architect to join our national team of Microsoft data and analytics specialists.
This role at BlueGranite is responsible for leading modern business intelligence solutions and deploying Power BI at scale. Successful candidates are experts in reporting and analytics, model development, data visualizations, security, governance, data quality, and enterprise adoption. This full-time, remote position is for individuals who enjoy a hands-on leadership role on client-facing project teams with up to 25% overnight travel on an annual basis.
At a minimum, were looking for:
10+ years professional experience in Business Intelligence
Experience leading Microsoft BI solution development and enterprise deployment
Knowledge of self-service BI strategies, user adoption, and deployment methodologies
Ability to lead and scope projects, providing both engagement leadership and pre-sales support
Strong experience with data queries, analytics, and manipulation
Experience gathering requirements, developing the vision with business stakeholders, and collaborating with data architects and I.T. specialists on data source needs
Solid data visualization skills for reporting and dashboard design
Strong interest in building and deploying Power BI solutions together with Azure data services
Ability to create Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and lead workshops with clients including business and I.T. stakeholders
Knowledge of database languages, concepts, and environments
Passion for both business and technology, specifically around using insights for data-driven decision making, translating data-driven insights into decisions and actions
Self-starter, self-managed, quick learner, problem-solver with a positive, collaborative, and team-based attitude
Excellent communication skills, ability to engage with other project team members and clients
Bachelor’s in information technology, computer science, or business; or MBA/MSBA or similar
Demonstration of thought leadership, community volunteering, recognition, or awards
Ability to travel to client locations, with overnight travel 25% per year
Authorization to work in the U.S., without the requirement for an employment visa
