A ROLE YOU WILL LOVE
The Underwriting Support Analyst role entails the review of residential mortgage loan applications and all borrower provided applicable documentation necessary for an underwriter to render lending decisions in accordance with GSE, government, client and/or internal CLS guidelines. They must be a team player who will work closely with internal/external customers to provide outstanding customer service but has no lending decision authority.
Review submission packages of residential mortgage loans within established SLA to accurately identify missing documentation requirements necessary for an underwriter to render a lending decision and validate that the documentation provided meets program and guideline requirements
Performs basic due diligence including validation of application completeness, reviewing relevant forms and validate and/or update data in LOS
Verifies the accuracy of the AUS and makes required updates to reconcile findings to ensure data integrity and compliance with Client guidelines/criteria
Navigate multiple guideline sources to ensure compliance with agency and clients requirements/limitations.
Ordering any required reports as define by client process/procedures.
Effectively verbally communicates additional documentation requirements based on review findings in a positive and professional manner to client Loan Officers
Issues Notice of Incomplete Action per policy

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Working knowledge and understanding of AUS
Clear understanding of credit and an ability to review mortgage related credit documents

Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
1 year of Residential conventional mortgage experience
Customer contact experience & customer focused
Self-starter, positive attitude & ability to multi-task
Prior mortgage QA/QC experience
Ability to read/analyze/interpret business periodicals/ journals/technical procedures/gov. regulations; write reports/business correspondence/procedure manuals; effectively present information/respond to questions from managers/clients/customers/public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
