Lead Cook at Pagosa Springs Head Start ~ Starting in August 2023 Sign-on bonus of $1,000 for a qualified candidate once hired. Bonus paid after six months of successful employment. The hourly wage range is $13.65 to $14.25, depending on education and experience through August 31, 2023. As of September 1, 2023, the hourly wage range will increase to $15.16 to $16.91 due to a cost of living adjustment. Know and follow the requirements of the Child/Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) documentation. Order and purchase food weekly as well as related supplies as needed to comply with CACFP requirements. Prepare age-appropriate, attractive meals in quantities according to menu plan and number of persons to be served. Deliver meals to eating areas promptly according to an annual agreement with CACFP. Maintain a safe work environment and consistently practice all Health and Safety procedures. Complete Kitchen Health and Safety paperwork in ChildPlus, including temperature logs, equipment calibration, and cleaning tasks. Support regular kitchen inspections performed by the Health and Safety Manager, both announced and unannounced. Support Family Style preparation, serving, and dining. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: High School/GED and Food Handlers certification. Must have a minimum of 1 year experience. Experience in food storage and purchasing, and sanitation preferred. Formal education in nutrition and health is preferred. Complete and maintain Food Handlers certification.
