The role of the Inside Account Manager is threefold: first; to pursue sales leads and win small and midsize opportunities (i.e., up to $300K), second; to identify sales leads that convert to sales through digital outreach efforts as well as traditional outreach methods via LinkedIn, email and phone; and third; event logistics and client information support for the sales team under the direction of the Director of Client Services.Success is defined by both the ability grow sales and also support for sales team to achieve their goals. The candidate would work directly with the sales team and work with either Large or Small to Midsize Accounts.Youll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. *All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Groups Telecommuter Policy.Primary Responsibilities: Accountable to sell Optum solutions to new and existing Life Sciences clients Manage opportunities below $300k Conduct client outreach daily to generate interest, qualify prospects and pass qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales reps. Cultivate and grow customer relationships; develop knowledge of their pipeline and sales goals, understanding of their internal structure and key personnel Develop expertise and fluency regarding Life Sciences products and services Use the Edge sales methodology and interface in order to set up and manage opportunities through the lead, qualify and propose stages Mine salesforce.com and LinkedIn for potential contacts, among other sources. Once a qualified opportunity is established, connect with appropriate Client Executive or VP or Product Team Director to arrange call and follow-up actions Understand customer needs and requirements, mostly via email, telephone and LinkedIn Set up meetings and coordinate the appropriate internal resources to qualify and drive the opportunity forward Develop insightful client summary information to assist sales team in understanding recent client sales history with Optum (including both won and lost opportunities), client pipeline and therapeutic focus Under the direction of the sales team you support, assist with the scheduling of calls and meetingsYoull be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) 5+ years of experience working in sales, account management, marketing, sales support or related field Proficient with corporate productivity and web presentation tools Experience working with Salesforce.com or similar CRM Ability to travel up to 10% of the time If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener.
