Founded in 2010, Blueprint Schools Network is a national nonprofit organization that promotes educational equity and improves life outcomes for students by partnering with states, districts, and schools to plan, implement, and monitor school improvement initiatives. Blueprints whole-school improvement approach to rapidly improving student achievement at low-performing public schools is grounded in a framework of five core strategies. These strategies emerged through analyses of the attributes that drive student achievement and represent common elements of schools capable of closing the achievement gap in the lowest performing schools.
One of the strategies that consistently demonstrated the most significant gains in student achievement is providing data-driven, small-group, differentiated instruction. In 2010, we launched our small group differentiated instruction strategy the Blueprint Math Fellows Program as a standalone intervention service. Since that time, our Math Fellows have served more than 25,000 students in grades 2-11 at more than 100 schools across the country. District partnerships include the Oakland Unified School District, San Francisco Unified School District, Pittsburg Unified School District (CA), Boston Public Schools, Holyoke Public Schools, Salem Public Schools (MA), Denver Public Schools, Adams County 14 Public Schools (CO), East Saint Louis School District 189 (IL), Saint Louis Public Schools (MO) and YES Prep Public Charter Schools (TX).
Reporting to the Human Capital Manager, the Human Capital Coordinator helps manage the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department, as well as supporting the recruitment, background screening and onboarding of Blueprint Fellows across all partner districts.
Conduct outreach to potential pipeline sources (i.e. universities and colleges, local community organizations, other national service organizations, etc.);Assist with the development of the annual recruitment calendar;Actively post and maintain Blueprint Fellow job postings;Maintain data and create reports related to recruitment;Support the initial screening process of candidates;Complete reference checks;Support candidate engagement throughout the recruitment process by regularly communicating with candidates and responding to candidate questions;Assist with background screening and onboarding of new Fellows across all partner regions;
Proactively and reactively provide communication on HR topics related to background screening, onboarding, payroll, benefits, leave, as well as the interpretation of HR policies and procedures related to the Blueprint regional program(s);Partner with the Human Capital Manager to process bi-weekly payroll;Partner with the Human Capital Manager to administer benefits and answer benefit related questions;Partner with the Human Capital Manager to support the recruitment process for internal hires:Support includes preparation of job descriptions, drafting of interview guides, leading initial HR phone screens, and supporting hiring managers with the coordination of interviews and reference check process;Other projects, as assigned.
A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, or a related field required;Three years of Human Resources experience with knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration;Prior experience with benefits administration and payroll processing (with support of external payroll service) preferred;Prior experience supporting the employee background screening and orientation process;Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations;Ability to work with and retain confidential information;Strong oral and written communication skills;Excellent organizational and interpersonal relations skills; strong internal and external client focus;High level of initiative, critical thinking and problem-solving skills;Ability to prioritize and work effectively within a fast-paced, non-profit environment;Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously and follow through on issues in a timely manner;Proficient with technology (Google Gmail/Docs/Sheets, and MS Office: PowerPoint/Word/Excel).
