General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Airborne Systems Mechanical Engineering Manager. This position is responsible for providing the leadership to a team of 25+ Mechanical Engineers responsible for developing hardware for Airborne Systems programs in Bloomington, MN. Key responsibilities include developing the capabilities of the team to meet future challenges and perform managerial duties to ensure department operational objectives are met. This role will work collaboratively with other Engineering Managers and business leaders as a part of the overall leadership team to position the business for success. This will include creating an environment of open dialog and creativity and fostering career development.

What you bring to the table:

·         A Bachelor’s of Science or Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience

·         Leads a group of engineers and technicians as assigned

·         Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering project within area of assigned responsibility

·         Participates in development of program strategies and teaming strategies on a single project

·         Participates in the development of executable project plans on proposals

·         Actively uncovers technical and organizational risks and ensures they are included in risk mitigation plans
