Make yourself at home with us and start doing your life’s best work.(sm)This position will lead change across the operational functions of the health plan – including state-mandated changes, operational efficiencies, and affordability initiatives.This position supports short and long term operational / strategic business activities – by developing, enhancing and maintaining operational information and models. This position also develops and implements effective / strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes.  This position will lead a team of 6 individuals responsible for system functionality within the health plan.Youll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within United States as you take on some tough challenges. The preferred location for this position is our office in Sugar Land, TX. Telecommuters in the state of Texas are preferred. Some travel to meetings with the Texas state health plan will be required in this role.Primary Responsibilities: Interpret, oversee, and communicate major change events according to business, contractual, or regulatory need specific to the operational organization Lead large, complex projects to achieve key business objectives through team of clinical project managers and process consultants Ad-hoc regulatory changes with short turnaround times and complex impacts to the organization Provide feedback on upcoming contractual changes to influence positive relationships with our state partners Ensure policies and procedures are complete and accurate in conjunction with other teams and business segments Use working knowledge to identify which departments are impacted Solve complex problems associated with change management and develops innovative solutions.  Identify timelines and resource needs within and between departments and products.  Identify impacts outside of Operations and engages the appropriate teams to drive solution resolution Develop functional, market level, and/or site strategy, plans, production and/or organizational priorities Predict emerging needs for staff communication and develops innovative solutions to meet them, engaging with the clinical operations and training teams as needed Participate in the development of business strategy related to efficiency or increased revenue – improving the work environment and efficiency of the clinical staff working remotely Develop and manage business plans to achieve objectives as dictated by contractual requirement or business goals Ensure compliance with assigned Service Level Agreements or contractual requirements Serve as operational lead on RFIs and RFPs as well as state inquiries without a clear owner Help identify owner for future requests.  Serve as operational attendee and lead for future implementations, working with the Implementation and Business Integration teams to ensure steady state Operations is well represented Attend weekly state meetings with the Health and Human Services as well as the Association of Health Plans to identify changes with operational impact – engage appropriate teams to drive proactive solutions for challenges or implement required changes Serve as point leadership for Trading Partner Testing, liaison with appropriate matrix operational teams within UHG Lead technical operations team – with focus on systems and software Manage change of existing systems and implementation of new systems Develop processes to capture and communicate system deficiencies Support the Business Continuity Plan and serve as alternate in the event of a disaster impacting the Texas Health PlanYoull be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree 10+ years of experience in healthcare program and/or project management 5+ years of management experience 3+ years of healthcare systems experience with systems similar to CSP / Facets, ICUE, Altruista / Community Care Intermediate or higher level of proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and WordPreferred Qualifications: Advanced degree Working knowledge of utilization management processes Working knowledge and experience with Medicaid plans and working knowledge of case manager responsibilities Proven organizational planning skills including realistic goal setting and achievements Successful relationship building skills while improving processes and results Excellent written and verbal communication skills; presentations with small and large groups as well as professional organizations Analytical thinking and positive problem resolutions Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels and departments of the organization Desire to lead and develop others – influence job satisfaction in team of 800+ by ensuring successful educational program for new and existing employeesCareers at UnitedHealthcare Community & State.
