Make yourself at home with us and start doing your life’s best work.(sm)Mental Health Parity – This position provides oversight and management across MH / SUD and the Medical benefit business in the application of policies and methods for the ongoing assessment and alignment of prior authorization, concurrent review, and retrospective review processes to confirm that MH / SUD utilization review (UR)  processes are no more stringent than Medical / Surgical UR processes.  The position provides analytical supervision and oversight across the MH / SUD and M / S benefits businesses in the standardization of documentation, data, and analytical approaches to ensuring and demonstrating parity of utilization review processes.  The position ensures high quality implementation of processes to support identification and remediation of any potentially improper practices.Youll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within United States as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities: Lead the design of flexible data stores, standardized metrics, and programming logic to facilitate rapid response to state-level and national-level regulatory requests to demonstrate MH Parity in the application of NQTLs; the ongoing assessment and alignment of prior authorization, concurrent review, and retrospective review processes to confirm that MH / SUD processes are no more stringent than Medical / Surgical processes Create and execute an operational plan to build out Medical Benefit data stores, metrics, and analytics for the above, including supervising Programmer / Analysts, QCing programs / output / analytical results, and ensuring timely, high quality results Provide guidance to analytical staff assigned to internal UHG Partners (such as Optum Behavioral Health) to ensure alignment in the design and execution of the parallel plan for tracking and reporting Mental and Behavioral Health Benefit data and metrics Work with MH Parity UHG partners to expeditiously define specs for responses to ad hoc MH Parity regulatory inquiries in alignment with data that can be delivered in a timely, high quality manner. Assist in interpretation of the data or metricsYoull be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:  10+ years of experience working with health care data and analytics, specifically pertaining to the measurement and monitoring of utilization review programs 4+ years of supervising 2+ data analysts programming in SAS and using large health care data sets Ability to develop, document, and communicate policies, analytical designs, and results to leadership, lay audiences, and analysts Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree with emphasis in quantitative analysis such as healthcare economics, economics, epidemiology, demography, biostatistics, etc. Experience in areas such as regulatory compliance monitoring, regulatory compliance reporting, working with regulatory bodiesCareers at UnitedHealthcare Employer & Individual.
