It’s an opportunity to do your life’s best work.(sm)The Associate Director of Provider Market Strategy will focus on delivering actionable market insights, including market and competitive intelligence, market research and trends to key executives within target business areas, sales, marketing, and client management.  The Associate Director will conduct secondary and primary research initiatives transforming facts regarding market activity, competitor moves and buyer preferences into purposeful insights that help inform marketing and growth strategy.Youll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within United States as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities: Monitor, analyze and frame up market and competitive intelligence relevant to healthcare provider organizations (hospitals, health systems, medical groups, clinics), including but not limited to functional areas such as their patient engagement, revenue cycle management, IT operations, care management, population health, value-based care etc.    Manage market, customer/buyer and competitor research projects by implementing the entire research process, understanding business objectives, defining the research scope and budget, selecting the appropriate research methodologies, managing research vendor relations, interpreting and synthesizing data and information, developing impactful deliverables and reports, communicating and presenting research findings and implications to members of the organization Utilize and translate standard business intelligence frameworks (e.g. Porters Five Forces, SWOT, Market Maps) to create actionable research findings Manage triaging, scoping and tracking of own projects and proactively identifies and communicates risks, progress and status to stakeholders and supervisor Own projects end-to-end from scoping to delivery, including research, content creation, final deliverable packaging, status communication, stakeholder expectation management and results presentation Cultivate and own strong working relationships with assigned stakeholders and capture their business strategy, market intelligence needs and surface actionable insights to enable their decision making and sales/marketing/product development/client engagement strategies Coordinate work activities with other supervisors, subject matter experts and peers Maintain current knowledge of key Provider market trends and major competitor companies, assess emerging threats and opportunities and communicate short-term alerts and long-term implications to business leaders on a regular cadence Monitor industry developments and announcements to synthesize content for internal alerts, newsletters and education sessions utilizing a wide variety of industry reports and databases Develop and standardize high quality deliverable templates and insight frameworks for different types of research requests Assist team leader in capturing stakeholder research/information needs and developing quarterly and annual market research plans, prioritize requests and support them at scale Present research findings and implications to all levels within the organization, gather feedback and iterate on final deliverable as neededYoull be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.keywords: provider market research, competitive intelligence, competitive research, market research consultant, secondary researchRequired Qualifications: Bachelors degree 5+ years of experience in market research and competitive intelligence 5+ years of experience in the health care space Demonstrable experience with supporting organizational competitive intelligence, market positioning and product packaging / launch activities Demonstrable experience with market and competitor analysis frameworks (e.g. Porters Five Forces, SWOT, Market Maps, etc.) Demonstrable project management experience and accountability – owning projects end-to-end and communicating with stakeholders during all stages (scoping, prioritizing, risk-mitigating and delivering on projects) Experience conducting secondary market research and familiarity / experience with various sources: (private vs public data sets, knows major research firms, e.g. Forrester / Gartner / IDC) Experience working in marketing / sales / product management or corporate strategy (directly or indirectly) in a highly matrixed work environment Experienced and comfortable with presenting in person and via WebEx to large groups at all levels of the organization If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener.
